The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is on a business trip to the United States of America, attended the 78th session of the UN General Assembly today.

This event is a clear proof of the commitment of the dear Motherland to the principle of broad international cooperation under the leadership of the Turkmen leader. In this concept, the deepening of strategic relations with the United Nations is one of the priority areas. Today, this cooperation has acquired a new meaning.

In the morning, the motorcade of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov headed to the UN headquarters.

Our independent, eternally neutral country actively participates in the development of harmonious solutions to important issues of the global agenda, continuously contributes to the overall efforts to strengthen security and stability, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for the period up to 2030 at the regional and international levels. By joining the political, economic and legal space of the world, our country effectively uses its rich creative potential for the benefit of all mankind. A clear example of this is the establishment of cooperation with the specialized agencies of the United Nations and related bodies, and the implementation of joint projects in various sectors. Speaking about the importance of the President's participation in the regular session of the United Nations General Assembly, it should be noted that this is considered as a continuation of the regular work as a full member of the United Nations.

Upon his arrival at the UN headquarters, the Turkmen leader was cordially greeted by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Chairman of the 78th session of the General Assembly, Dennis Francis.

An official reception was held here in the ECOSOC Hall on behalf of the UN Secretary General.

Then the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The agenda of this session includes a wide range of important areas such as promoting rapid economic development, ensuring peace and security in the world, confronting global fears and threats of today, protecting the environment and human rights, and others.

Speaking from the United Nations, the Turkmen leader expressed the country's priority views on important regional and global issues, as well as new, creative initiatives aimed at further expanding effective international cooperation in line with the interests of global well-being and development.

At the beginning of his speech, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the gathering on the start of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly and wished it to work effectively. The Turkmen leader congratulated Ambassador Dennis Francis on his election as the Speaker of the General Assembly and expressed his support and encouragement in his work during this important period.

As mentioned, today's very high sense of responsibility should unite all 193 member countries of our organization. Regardless of their geographical location, population, size of economy, socio-political model, each of them must contribute to solving the tasks facing the United Nations. For a myriad of reasons, the modern world is facing a number of very serious threats. With the characteristics of their occurrence, all of them have a little influence on the course of interstate relations. It often adversely affects the implementation of agreed development plans and programs in key areas of the public agenda. This, in turn, could lead to the destruction of the fundamental pillars of global security as the core business of the United Nations. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that this will certainly not be allowed.

Based on this, Turkmenistan has been firmly and steadily protecting the principle of the indivisibility and integrity of security and the inseparability of its various directions for many years. We believe that military and political security cannot be considered separately from economic, ecological, technological, energy, transport, food, biological, information security. None of the listed areas can be secondary or unimportant, and their solution cannot be postponed for a later period, the Turkmen leader continued.

I believe that Member States should channel their experience, competence, ideas and initiatives in a creative direction.
